TRiNDS Educational Series: Clinical Research Manager Skills Development

TRiNDS partners with innovative clients working in rare neuromuscular disease (NMD) research to provide contract research services around the world. A major component to our success is our commitment to cultivating excellence. Our expert, specialized, experienced, and knowledgeable teams need to consistently bring high level support to every project, every day. For us to continue providing the highest quality support to our clients, we need to foster collaboration and stay up to date on breakthrough methods and strategies in our field.

One of the ways we cultivate our commitment to excellent service is our staff continuing education program. TRiNDS supports every full-time employee to attend continuing education conferences or trainings once a year. This year, members of our team will have completed courses covering the Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC), Clinical Data Acquisition Standards Harmonization (CDASH), and Study Data Tabulation Model (SDTM); clinical research management; and project management fundamentals. Other team members have used their educational funds to attend the CureDuchenne FUTURES 2023 and World Muscle Society conferences. Everyone returns reenergized with new information, recommitted to the work at hand, and ready for another year of supporting innovation in clinical research.

Employees who receive funding through the Continuing Education Program present their work to their peers at the TRiNDS Educational Series. Our seminar discussions identify ways to improve our processes, increase efficiency, and adapt to new approaches in the field. Clinical Project Lead (CPL), Reality Price, recently completed Barnett International’s Clinical Research Manager Skills Development Series:   Communication and Building Effective Teams. At our March Educational Series, she shared several important components to successful internal and external team building with us.

Consistent, positive, and attentive communication and interactions are the basis of developing relationships with your peers and project teams. Your team members want purpose and meaning from their work, to have their efforts and skills acknowledged, and to have open and honest relationships with their team members, particularly with a manager who can coach them to reach their goals. These interactions drive employee engagement and development. Additionally, encouraging team members to share their ideas fosters an open, productive, and positive atmosphere. Good communication practices make individuals feel valued and successful. A relationship driven focus can empower your team members to be more efficient and productive, building your team back stronger than it was before.
